Financial Policies
Our Office Policy regarding accounts is that payment is due upon date of service. If this is not possible, we ask that financial arrangements be made prior to your appointment with our office manager. For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard and Interact Direct Payment.
Dental Insurance Claim Policies
If you have dental insurance please bring your plan information with you to your first appointment. In order to file your claim we must have your current dental insurance information on file. Please advise us promptly of any changes that may occur. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for payment of your account, your insurance company will reimburse you directly. Most insurance companies allow us to file your claim electronically and will reimburse you quickly. Others require claim forms to be filled out and mailed in, we are happy to assist you with either format. We will always work with you to ensure that you receive the maximum benefits to which you are entitled. Our fees follow the current Ontario Dental Association fee guide.
Appointment Policies
Confirming Appointments
Your dental appointment is considered confirmed at the time of booking. However, as a courtesy to our patients we will call and remind you of your appointment one week before, followed by 24 hours in advance. If we are unable to contact you, we will still expect you to arrive for your appointment.
Cancellations
We schedule a specific amount of time with the doctor or hygienist. This time is scheduled just for you and we ask that you provide 2 full business days notice if you need to change your reserved appointment time. This allows us to offer your appointment to someone else who may need urgent treatment. Since we turn away other patients to hold your appointment, any missed appointments or cancellations with less than 2 business days notice may result in a cancellation charge.
Arriving Late
At Meadowlands Dental, we place high importance on our patients’ time, and strive to run on time for all appointments. Because of this, our office is maintained on a tight schedule, and arriving late for an appointment may result in us not being able to start or complete treatment in the remaining amount of time. To provide you with proper dental care, it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment.
Emergency Appointments
As a courtesy to our prescheduled patients, a phone call is requested prior to coming in to reduce waiting time for everyone. We will do our best to look after you as soon as possible. For emergencies outside of patient hours, please phone our regular office number for voice message instructions. Please note during an emergency appointment, the dentist will try to relieve your discomfort and make a diagnosis regarding a necessary treatment plan. At that time we will be happy to discuss further treatment options and fees.
